Summary
Currently leading the business of Temple Shaaray Teflia, the largest reform congregation in N. Westchester. Previously led operations, facilities, budget and new business strategy for Manny Cantor Center, a modern community center with a 128 year history. I also teach as an Adjunct at Columbia University's MS in Nonprofit Management. I co-founded the first “Web User Group” in 1994, and helped build the early NYC Tech community. I’ve been at Microsoft, startups, a major non-profit and an education program that taught entrepreneurs. I was recently the COO at DomainSkate running sales and business development, logistics, and customer education. Previous engagements include creating strategies for online communities, social networking, blogs, podcasting, and marketing. Clients have included WEtv, Mommybites, AJLI, New York Road Runners, and Wicked Start. In 2006 I co-founded and was the first CEO of Social Media Club, a trade association for business and media professionals. After September 11th, 2001, I helped start a nonprofit for the families of the rescue workers, leading the distribution of $168MM. The charity also helped start another group; since 2002, I’ve helped run America’s Camp for the kids who lost parents on 9/11. I started volunteering and later served as the assistant to the board, running all operations day-to-day. When not learning and teaching what I know about the nonprofit world, marketing and digital tech, I’m biking long distance rides to fundraise, hiking and enjoying life with family. I've been covered in the New York Times, Fast Company Magazine, New York Post, New York Daily News, and the Silicon Alley Reporter. MPS from NYU, BS from Cornell. Specialties: Leading and Managing in times of uncertainty, Nonprofit Leadership, Project Management, Social Media, Business Development/Relationship Sales, Community Building, Marketing, Coaching.
