26 years in the business. Started programming for a small web & handheld company, doing first websites then programming for Palm handhelds In 2000, I started barnaland.is, a website for parents with information, but most famous for the baby websites, where 60% of children born in Iceland had a website in 2003 - 2004, where parents blogged and uploaded images and videos to share with family and friends. It was also known for its message board, often talked about ;) With time, it pivoted to a classified site called bland.is, the ebay/craigslist of Iceland. 2012-2015 I worked for the e-commerce arm of Móberg. At Móberg, I had the chance to be the architect for the first version of Netgíró (Klarna of Iceland) with my colleagues. In 2015, I became the CTO of Wedo, the largest e-commerce company in Iceland, running bland.is, hopkaup.is, the Groupon of Iceland, and heimkaup.is, Amazon of Iceland, the largest e-commerce store in Iceland with 50.000 SKUs, delivery slots every hour, WMS, PIM, delivery & scanner systems made in-house, designed & managed by me. In January 2021, I started to look into the blockchain and had that magic moment in mid-February. In June I quit at Wedo. After a bit of rest, I had an idea, something that didn't exist on the blockchain, so I opened up a laptop and a year later liminal.market became a reality.
