Summary

I have two dissimilar passions. One is using software to solve problems. The other is managing large scale emergencies. My interest in software emerged in college where I originally enrolled for a degree in mathematics but ultimately earned a Master’s Degree in Computer Science because I was excited by the possibilities of what can be achieved with software. My interest in responding to large scale emergencies was born on the streets of south central Los Angeles during the 1992 Riots. I was an Infantry Captain in the California National Guard and I found the challenge fascinating. My two interests remained separate for several years after the riots. I developed software during the week and did emergency management at the military headquarters for the State of California on weekends and during emergencies. During this time I realized that the biggest challenge managing large scale emergencies was managing information. I found that I was uniquely qualified to solve this problem due to my dual backgrounds in emergency management and software development. I founded Alert Technologies Corporation to build a solution to solve the problem of managing information during emergencies. Alert developed a software platform called OpsCenter which is used by large corporations and government agencies. OpsCenter improves the effectiveness of the organization’s response to emergencies and business disruptions and thereby reduces the loss of life, property and revenue. I am currently solving emergency management and business continuity challenges one organization at a time. It is my objective to completely solve the emergency management and continuity challenges of some of the premier organizations in the world. I welcome contact from anyone that can help me achieve that goal.
