Dr. Weber has a broad record of technological innovation and entrepreneurism, having co-founded multiple companies, run technical conferences, earned 16 patents and a PhD in Artificial Intelligence, published dozens of research papers, written lots of code, and co-won two "Product of the Year" awards. Jay was Co-Founder and CTO of SoHalo, the Social Loyalty company used by global Fortune 500 companies to power the next generation of digital marketing. He built and ran both software development and server operations across offices in 4 countries and applications in 5 languages on 4 continents. He was Co-founder and Chief Technical Officer of www.vivaty.com, a Kleiner Perkins/Mohr-Davidow funded social gaming startup. Jay was pivotal in defining the company's strategy, raising Angel funding, recruiting the CEO, and pitching and closing the Series A funding. In addition Jay built-out and ran the Engineering, QA, Release, and Operations teams that shipped the multiplayer 3D social game, integrated social media including Facebook. Microsoft acquired the technology and key employees from Vivaty and will be incorporating some of this technology into future products. Previously, Jay's startup EIT was acquired by VeriFone to become their Internet Commerce Division, where he was Director of Software and then Engineering Fellow. Jay led the development teams to build Virtual Point of Sale and Smartcard Home Banking products, working closely with VISA, Wells Fargo, Citibank, Sparbanken, Microsoft and Oracle. Jay has served on the Boards of ScholarSafe, a web-based college-savings startup, Zeum, a non-profit San Francisco-based Media Arts museum, B3TV, Perceptual Robotics, Inc. (acquired by divine, Inc.), and the non-profit Sandwich Historical Society / Glass Museum.
