I am a technologist and entrepreneur. My education is in economics and journalism, but I have nurtured gaming and fintech startups and scale-ups for more than 20 years. I am a passionate and visionary leader who drives strategic growth, innovation and value creation. As a Venture Partner at Dreamcraft Ventures, Strategic Advisor, and Angel Investor, I leverage my extensive experience and global network to identify, evaluate, and support promising businesses. My expertise was developed in the School of Hard Knocks. I have failed, succeeded, and smashed the upper bounds of the greatest expectations. I made a lot of money for people along the way. And I learned. Throughout my career, I have built and launched leading global digital and retail gaming businesses for DraftKings, PokerStars, PartyPoker, bwin, the World Poker Tour, Asia Pacific Poker Tour & European Poker Tour. I have successfully entered and expanded in new markets, created and executed public policy initiatives and growth marketing strategies, fixed ailing B2B businesses, developed and launched new B2C products and platforms, and managed complex regulatory and operational challenges. Highlights: - Launched DraftKings in Europe & Australia. First hire - building strategy, team & business. - Commercial and strategic lead for start-up of DraftKings Sportsbook, iGaming & Retail. - Launched PokerStars in Asia. First hire - built strategy, team & business. - Launched PartyPoker B2C & B2B in regulated US online iGaming market. - Expanded footprint of WPT globally; created 'WPT 500'; and co-managed sale process. - Created PokerStars 'New Platforms​' incubator, producing first mobile and social products. - Co-founded Asia Pacific Poker Tour, with televised events in China, Philippines, South Korea & Australia. Executive-produced gaming events across 40+ jurisdictions. - Built the PokerStars Macau Poker Room, the first dedicated poker room in China. I hold Personal Management Licences (or equivalent) for gambling businesses in the UK, Denmark, Malta, Australia and New Jersey. I am a dual citizen of Canada and the UK, and resident in Denmark. I co-authored Practical Intranet Development, a book that explains corporate website development to non-technical project managers. My mission is to contribute to the advancement and transformation of the gaming and fintech industries, by supporting and empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs and innovators.
