Summary

I partner with CEOs at key inflection points in their business and career. My support often includes preparing for a raise, IPO or potential M+A event; to achieve critical milestones, to build and develop the C-Suite, to work more effectively with their Board, and to reduce the kinds of surprises that can disrupt momentum, erode credibility with investors and potentially derail a career. Boards and investors rely on me to improve their returns by enhancing the leadership skills and impact of their CEOs, especially newer CEOs with an academic, science, technology, or medical background. While these newer CEOs have remarkable subject matter expertise and proven success in research or a laboratory environment, they now must transition to a leadership role, developing new skills in the areas of strategy, planning and building relationships with investors, Boards, their senior team and others. My engagement and support reduces the challenges and unintended missteps that are often associated with the early years during the transition from the lab to the corner office. I’m also approached when there is concern about achieving critical milestones, a troubling pattern of surprises or missed targets, or unproductive conflict with the C-Suite, Board, and investors. My process incorporates a bundled package of advisory and executive coaching services consistent with the philosophy and leadership practices outlined in my book, “The Billion Dollar CEO” and the management principles in our proprietary, “Framework for High Performance.” While my work is industry-agnostic, I have a notable record in the areas of BioPharma, Health Sciences, Technology, and Financial Services. My experience spans venture-backed startups and unicorn IPOs through trillion-dollar, publicly traded multinationals. I have quietly guided some of the country's top scientists, researchers, oncologists and technologists, many of whom are now recognized as the top executives in their industry and have rightfully achieved ‘Billion Dollar CEO’ status. My engagements are typically limited to Boards/Investors, CEOs and their C-Suite.
