Summary
I lead a boutique product design consulting practice focused on the discovery and de-risking of new product concepts, and have completed complex engagements with clients including Google, VMware, Amazon, T-Mobile, Olympus, the U.S. government, and numerous startups. My early-stage experience includes designing the first enterprise security products for Beyond Identity and Resilient Systems, a Cambridge MA startup acquired by IBM Security. I am a co-developer of Local Haze, an iOS app that monitors air quality using crowdsourced data from over 34,000 air quality sensors across six continents. During 2024-2025, I served on the faculty of the Tufts University Department of Computer Science as a Lecturer and mentor to Computer Science students. My technical background includes an MS from the MIT Media Laboratory and a BS in Computer Science from Tufts University. I'm an inventor on over a dozen software utility patents. I authored the first book linking business strategy to online user experience, "Built for Use" (McGraw-Hill), and co-authored "Envision Product: User Experience for Founders" with Craig Newell.
