Summary

The Invest Georgia Program, established and backed by the State of Georgia in 2014, is considered a fund of funds investment model and invests exclusively in Georgia-based venture and private equity partnerships. Invest Georgia has allocated $50,750,000 into 17 Georgia-based venture or private equity funds acting as a limited partner in each venture or private equity fund. Georgia chose the "fund of funds" model in 2014 due to the State of Georgia Constitution prohibiting the State of Georgia from direct ownership of private companies. In March of 2023, Invest Georgia partnered with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs to manage a new $50,000,000 Georgia SSBCI Venture Capital Investment Program backed by the US Treasury. The Georgia SSBCI Venture Capital Investment Program allows direct investing (via the US Treasury) into small Georgia-based companies.
