Summary
Landon Pollack’s work focuses on connection and reconnection to ourselves, to other people, to non-human animals, and to the natural world. He is an entrepreneur bringing together a passion for ecosystem health with his knowledge of the business, non-profit and academic communities to found Path2Proximity and VitalVisitors. He is currently the cofounder and Executive Director of Project ReConnect, the UCLA Ecological Medicine & Psychedelic Studies Initiative. He also serves as the Chair of Innovations in Mental Health Council, a part of the UCLA Psychiatry Department, and serves as a Special Advisor to the UCLA Psychiatry Department Chair. Most recently Landon has partnered with Burroughs Wellcome Fund as co-organizer of their Consciousness Initiative and as a Special Advisor to the President and CEO. Landon is also active with Yale Ventures as an Entrepreneur-in-residence and as a Visiting Scholar at Yale Program for Psychedelic Science, Yale University. He is an advisor to Harvard Medical School, the Division of Sleep Medicine, and UCLA Health, the Division of Geriatric Medicine. A number of companies and non-profits benefit from his advisory work including Berkeley SkyDeck, Wider Circle, Redesign Health, CEAL @ UNC, Tabula Rasa Ventures, Evolve Ventures and Astia. Extending his understanding and experiences, Landon serves as a mentor for Springboard Enterprises, KidsX Accelerator, Tsai Center for Innovative Thinking at Yale, Techstars, The Keller Center at Princeton University and Columbia University's Center for Technology Management. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of Dream Foundation. As the founder or founding investor in over 20 companies, resulting in the full range of exits, from private sale to IPOs to acquisitions by Fortune 50 companies, Landon is noted for seeing opportunity hidden in complexity by looking at challenges in unique ways. He has leveraged his insight in strategy and vision, new venture development, culture and team building, innovation and transdisciplinary collaborations, and marketing and brand strategy. He has since specialized in pairing organizations, groups, and faculties with the world-class people they need. A continuous learner, his personal studies include Critical Thinking, I-O Psychology, Interpersonal Dynamics, Leadership Development, Conflict Resolution, and Thanatology. He practices yoga, archery, martial arts, and meditation. Landon also is a hospice volunteer and an End-of-Life Doula. In short, the phrase that describes Landon is human catalyst.
