Summary
Laura Dove leads Human Factors research and design for combination products at Amgen. She is responsible for integrating user-centered design processes, principles and methods into the creation of next-generation medical device systems. Key application areas include hardware, electro-mechanical and software systems. Previously, she led the Human Factors function for OBGYN Surgical Innovations at Medtronic. She also worked in software tech at MathWorks where she provided User Experience leadership to multiple products in the Signal Processing and Control Design Automation portfolios. She started her career in the early 2000's investigating and designing remote patient management systems for electrophysiologists within the Cardiac Rhythm Management business at Medtronic. Her background in design thinking inspired her to publish articles on multiple topics including strengthening design and research collaboration, user-driven journey mapping and designing healthcare systems for emerging markets. In her spare time, she trains and competes her horse and dogs.
