Summary
After 28 years as a professor in the Interactive Games & Media department at RIT in Rochester, NY, where I also founded and serve as director for the Lab for Social Computing in the MAGIC (Media, Art, Games, Interaction, and Creativity) Center, I have begun a “permanent sabbatical” allowing me the freedom to explore ideas and develop new skills on my own schedule. My current teaching and research interests focus on social computing technologies (including collaborative information creation and retrieval), social aspects of game design and play, and use of generative AI for content creation. I also teach classes in web development and user experience.
