As a marketer: - I've worked on Amazon, Yahoo, Pepsi, Nike, Microsoft, Unilever across the US, China, Europe and India - I helped launch MTV in India and then ran its rival Channel V. - I founded marketing and ad firm Pinstorm. - I've written ads and directed commercials that have won loads of advertising and marketing awards - but you know us ad folks - we keep giving ourselves these darn things to feed our hungry egos. As an entrepreneur: - I failed in my first three ventures. Did okay the fourth one onwards - have a couple of firms that use space technology in innovative ways - including one which became the first Indian private company in space. As an investor: - I've run 3 venture funds and am now on my 4th. - my funds have had investors (LPs) like Google, Motorola and pension funds from Denmark, Netherlands and the UK - my investees include Red Bus, CarWale, Doolally, Career Launcher, Chumbak, Voonik, SabKa Dentist and Satellize (earlier Exseed Space) - my funds won India's "Best VC of the Year". Twice, if that matters. - I'm now investing from Dubai, as part of @AngelSpark where we've made 15 investments in as many months. I'm the proud father of three headstrong brats.
