Summary
After a multi-year sabbatical in simultaneous roles as CEO at Destiny Bay Wine Imports, an importer of luxury wines and CEO of Space-Time Insight, the software leader in real‐time geospatial analytics, Mark relaunched Five Frogs Ventures, a technology and M&A advisory consultancy named after his internationally popular book on accelerating business transitions, Five Frogs on a Log, written while he was a Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Mark was a founding partner of Startup Farms Inc., a software incubator, and AlertEnterprise, specializing in real‐time IT and physical security. Prior to that, Mark was Senior Vice President of Strategy at Virsa Systems, formulating strategy and implementing partnerships with the largest professional service and software development firms in the world. After negotiating the SAP acquisition of Virsa Systems, he became a Senior Vice President at SAP Labs. Earlier, Mark was a partner and global practice leader for merger and acquisition consulting at PricewaterhouseCoopers. This was preceded by roles as National Director of M&A at Mercer and at the Hay Group. Prior to that, he was president of the Rubicon Group, specializing in trade and M&A advisory. In his over 35 years’ experience in M&A and strategy, he worked with such diverse global corporations as Adobe Systems, Microsoft, Barclays Group, DaimlerChrysler, Hewlett Packard, Pearson plc, Alcoa, Global Crossing, McDonnell‐Douglas, Saatchi & Saatchi and Goodyear Tire & Rubber. Mark is presently on the Board of Directors of Caviar Affair Media and Course Hero, as well as senior strategy advisor to PredictWallStreet and Alan Parsons’ Art and Science of Sound. Mark is a frequently quoted public speaker. His best‐selling book on accelerating mergers and business transitions, Five Frogs on a Log, has sold nearly 70,000 copies in five languages.
