Summary
Martin Muoto is the CEO and Founder of SoLa Impact, the largest private developer of affordable and workforce housing in California. In 2023, Martin and Gray Lusk also founded Model/Z Modular with the mission to radically transform and scale the delivery of affordable housing across the US. Their motto of “Doing Well by Doing Good” focuses on building cost-effective multifamily housing while achieving market-rate returns. This double-bottom-line strategy has enabled SoLa and Model/Z to improve the lives of thousands of residents in California’s low-income neighborhoods, house hundreds of formerly homeless families, and develop award-winning projects, such as The Beehive and the SoLa Technology & Entrepreneurship Center. Under Martin’s leadership, SoLa Impact has been recognized by Forbes, the LA Times, the WSJ, the American Institute of Architects, the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA), and the California State Congress for its vision and its innovative approach to social impact. Through four funds, SoLa Impact has invested over $1.5 billion in building affordable and workforce housing in low-income communities, building over 3,000 units across 40 projects, and becoming one of the fastest-growing private companies in the country. Martin was previously an operating executive at several technology companies and a venture capital partner at Accretive Partners and General Atlantic Partners in New York. He graduated with honors from The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
