Summary
I am a technologist and researcher in the field of Artificial Intelligence specializing in areas related to Natural Language and Text Understanding. I am particularly interested in real world applications of AI, innovating systems to deal with large amounts of textual data, and contributing to and being involved with the research community. As well as contributing to the research and technical areas within a company, I enjoy being involved with all aspects of the industry including strategic planning, product development, team building and management, and customer interactions. My experiences within academia, large corporations and startups provide a strong position from which to evaluate, apply, explore and innovate high tech solutions to information processing problems. Most recently I have been working on language applications leveraging deep learning and LLMs. I've contributed to the core code in Microsoft's Agent service and advocated and driven internal evaluation benchmarks for LLM models and tool applications in agents within the product. The space is moving very quickly and expectations are high - evaluation is fundamental to delivering quality AI services that we can stand by. Specialties: Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing, Document Analysis (especially table understanding and the integration of NLP and Document Analysis), Data Visualization, Computational Cartography/GIS, 3d Graphics.
