Summary

As a physician and exercise physiologist in the northern parts of Israel, I created a special route that allows me to put together my professional interests into a unique, unified practice. I am a sports medicine physician (MD) and an exercise physiologist (Ph.D.), specialized in sports medicine and rehabilitation, with a broad spectrum of interests and experience in the health and fitness industry. In 2013, I have built and currently manage the first integrated cardio-pulmonary testing, rehabilitation and sports medicine in Northern Israel, at the cardiology department and cardiac institute of Ziv Medical Center, Zefat, Israel. Since 5.2020, I have also initiated and managed a home-based cardiac rehabilitation program, as part of our cardiac rehabilitation institute in Ziv Medical Center. In 8.2020, despite the CoViD-19 pandemic and after several months of preparations, I was able to open a second cardiac rehabilitation institute in Northern Israel, in Poria Medical Center (See of Galilee). Using my experience & post-doctoral program in biomedical engineering, I also serve both medical centers as a member of New Technologies & Innovation Committees. In this capacity, I have opportunities to initiate & assist in development, implementation & management of several projects. Both of these positions and responsibilities, as well as being an active member of the Civilian Forum for Health Equality in Northern Israel, allow me to have a great perspective on the needs of the civilian and medical communities in Northern Israel. And I have used it to explore several opportunities of bringing new investments, technologies and innovation to this unique part of our country. As a certified preventive and rehabilitative exercise specialist, I have special interests in cardio-pulmonary exercise testing and rehabilitation, exercise metabolism and limitations, overreaching and overtraining syndromes, and adapted physical activities for people with chronic non-communicable diseases. As the chairman of the Israel Society of Sports Medicine for the last 6 years, I have an opportunity to develop this unique multi-disciplinary medical profession. Together, with our society members and friends, we try to bring it to its next professional level. I am also a member of the Israel Heart Society and honored to be a part of the Sports Cardiology forum and to contribute to its activity. It is my mission to advance Sports Medicine in Israel, even during these difficult times, and Sports Cardiology is a crucial part of it. Looking forward to knowing and working with all of you!
