A seasoned leader with over four decades of experience in the information technology sector, specializing in turnarounds, and strategic business growth in small companies and large. As a former CEO of three software companies, including Intacct Corporation (sold to Sage), and a general manager of four major IBM divisions, he contributed to transformative growth through fundraising, M&A, and operational excellence. Enabled significant revenue increases and secured strategic endorsements, solidifying a strong track record in creating value for organizations. In 2000, he founded a unique professional services firm, The Interim CEO Network, and placed 50 CEOs in 6 years to diagnose and effect change at troubled Silicon Valley companies. After retirement from executive leadership in 2009, he served as Dean’s Executive Professor of Information Systems at Santa Clara University, teaching undergrads and mentoring graduate students in real-world IT projects with Silicon Valley companies. He is an experienced Board member who has served as chairman and lead independent director of a public software company and on numerous private corporate boards. In the non-profit world, he served on the Board of Tony winner TheatreWorks Silicon Valley and as Board President of The Peninsula Golf and Country Club. He currently serves on the Board of the Northern California Golf Association and the Finance Committee of Second Harvest Silicon Valley.
