Summary
I am a Senior Engineering Manager as part of Adobe's Design organization. I provide strategic leadership and technical oversight to the Spectrum design system's core engineering team. You can check out Spectrum at spectrum.adobe.com! I have been with Adobe since 2007, and Adobe Design since 2010. My current work is focused on Spectrum, Adobe's 'living design system', providing Adobe's product implementation teams with design data and tooling to enable the delivery of Spectrum at Adobe scale. Before design system work and people management, I built internal UI frameworks as a UI engineer and team lead. My path at Adobe started with building applications in Adobe's World Wide Field Operations organization (aka consulting). Prior to Adobe, I was a consultant for iRise from 1999 to 2007. Over the years, my experience has included working with companies in the following domains: software, financial, telecom, retail, cloud services, bio-tech, real estate, pharmaceuticals, online media, entertainment, fitness, travel, and logistics. I have practiced Agile since 2002, dabbled with Kanban and Lean processes as part of the mix, and have held certifications for Scrum Master and Product Owner. I believe process is a means, not an end. As such, no cows are sacred in that regard. I finished a "Performance Leadership" certificate from Cornell in 2023, the latest step on my journey to master the people management aspect of my work. I'm focusing on a coaching skill set, based on a firm belief that quality, motivation, and retention come naturally to an engaged and well supported team.
