Nicole Alvino is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder at Firstup, the world's first intelligent communication platform - the SaaS platform used by the most admired companies in the world to connect with their people, design and deliver personalized communications, and gain engagement insights throughout the employee journey. She is proud to make work better for every worker, especially the 80% of the global workforce on the frontline, and help passionate customers like Tesco, Swissport, GSK, 3M, Ford, Dow, Colgate-Palmolive, Geisinger, Sutter Health, Raising Cane’s, ADM and Hilton meaningfully engage with their people and better understand what makes their workforce thrive. Prior to co-founding SocialChorus (post M&A with Dynamic Signal, now Firstup), she was the Founder and CEO of Dermalounge and a pioneer in using new technologies to engage employees and customers. Nicole started her career at Enron in structured finance where she quickly learned the value of authentic leadership (when her bosses went to jail) and ensures it is fully integrated in how she builds businesses. Nicole holds degrees in Economics and Japanese from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business. She is a frequent contributor to Fast Company, Entrepreneur, Inc. and Forbes and lives in the Seattle area with her husband and three sons. She has been fortunate to live and work on four continents, practice yoga on six, climb Kilimanjaro, trek through the Himalayas, Torres Del Paine and Atlas Mountains, work with women and girls in Kenya and Ethiopia, pray with monks in Lhasa, Nikko and Ankor Wat, dive in the Indian Ocean, Red Sea and Great Barrier Reef, experience Palmyra by camel before it was destroyed and ride the Pas de Chèvre before switching back to skiing, just to chase after her boys down mountains in BC and western US.
