Summary
Experienced entrepreneur, company and culture builder, and (most recently) public company Chairman and CEO with over 20 years of experience in the fintech and software industries. I am a Partner at Bain Capital Ventures (BCV), a multi-stage venture firm with over $12B in assets under management. I head up BCV's platform team, which provides business-building support to BCV portfolio companies. I also work as an advisor to our portfolio CEOs and lead the firm's incubation work in fintech and tech-enabled services. We have launched two companies so far (Reserv and Aboon), with more on the way! Previously, I was Chairman and CEO of OnDeck (NYSE: ONDK), a pioneering online SMB lender. I helped build the business from the earliest stages, took it public, and grew it to $445 million in revenue and $28 million in net income before we were acquired. Prior to OnDeck, I ran marketing and product for Tacit Networks, and helped lead the company to a successful acquisition. I have degrees from HBS and MIT and began my career as an engineer designing satellite communications systems in both the US and UK. I am passionate about entrepreneurship, and serve as an advisor to MIT's Delta V educational accelerator and as a mentor in the NYC Fintech Innovation Lab. Independently, I am an advisor and angel investor in dozens of startups and a handful of venture funds. Husband of one and father of two. Wannabe musician, amateur skier and aspiring gardener.
