Summary
With over 20 years experience building and maintaining web applications and sites, I'm not afraid of software archeology. I've worked with clients in non-profit organizations, e-commerce, developer education, and professional soccer. I dig in to understand how a code base works to make it perform beter and with fewer bugs. I'm also realize that a web application's value comes from how well it supports your organization's or business' goals. I'm comfortable using a various tools such as WordPress, Drupal, Symfony, and custom PHP+MySQL applications using PHP8, SOLID Object-Oriented principles, static analysis tools ,git, and automated testing to build dependable applications. I can also build front-end UIs using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript so they work on multiple devices. I believe in the importance of sharing what I've learned in my career. I've spoken at conferneces including Drupalcon, Drupalgovcon, Northeast PHP, and MadisonPHP. At php[architect], I managed the publication of a monthly magazine and a line of books for web application developers. We also organized and ran two annual conferences for the PHP Community.
