Attorney Owen Seitel is a co-founder of Crown®, LLP, an intellectual property, media, and entertainment law firm in San Francisco. Owen's clients range from individual artists and producers to large corporations, involved in myriad industries, from fashion to film, music to marketing, beer to Broadway. With a passion for Advising Creativity®, Owen has decades of experience with commercial endeavors and disputes involving copyright, trademark and right of publicity and broader business matters. He helps clients identify, capture, protect, leverage, and generate revenue from original works and he represents businesses that engage creatives, typically for marketing purposes. Owen’s clients include creators, as well as producers and distributors, of all forms of entertainment, sports, and informational content. Owen also represents creative services providers, such as branding, naming, and package design firms, offering experienced counsel in their negotiations and contracting and he counsels business enterprises at all stages, from idea and start-up, through financing and growth, joint venture and merger, and acquisition to dissolution. Owen is a member of the California and San Francisco Bar Associations, the American Bar Association Forum on the Entertainment and Sports Industries, the Intellectual Property Law Section of the California State Bar Association, the Sports Lawyers Association, and the International Trademark Association. He is former chair of the board of trustees of the Headlands Center for the Arts, which provides residencies and workspace for emerging and mid-career artists in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area in Marin County, California. A former adjunct professor at Golden Gate University School of Law, Owen frequently appears as a panelist at technology, multimedia, sports, entertainment, legal, and industry conferences.
