Summary

Retired from thirty plus years of full time Silicon Valley work - I contract with various technology companies. Presently, I contract with Maddie's Fund, a non-profit dedicated to revolutionizing the status and well-being of companion animals since 1994. In addition, I work in the creative dance and music community with a focus upon photography/videography and promotion. Another passion my lifelong passion for the written word. My previous lives had me moving bits, connecting people and infrastructure at NeXT, Read-Rite, Octel Communications, KidSoft, Netcode, Netscape, Kana, Broadbase, Perlegen Sciences and most recently Complete Genomics. Decades of International experience, including full build-outs (Facilities and IT) of headquarter offices in the UK, Switzerland, Japan and France, bio tech labs in Japan as well as very recent experience with significant demands of storage, networking, compute and staffing associated with genetic research in Mountain View, California. Building and retaining solid teams has been a passion. In fact, without the correct balance of teams and personalities the tasks will likely fail. Solid people, managed like adults and not treated like children, are the reason successful companies prevail. Learning to deal with a wide swath of powerful people thrashing about actual costs, is a specialty. Additional Specialties: Early stage Infrastructure, International networking and build-out, vendor negotiations and relationships, operations, staffing and installations. Scaled storage for genetic research, BioTech infrastructure laboratory design and support, navigating the political minefields. Leadership and mentoring of highly technical staff.
