Summary

Rachel is an expert generalist whose operating career spans fundraising, management consulting and non-profit management and leadership. After fully overcoming a crippling autoimmune disease solely by adopting a whole food plant-based diet, Rachel switched focus from the nonprofit education sector to the rapidly expanding plant-based sector. She completed the Center for Nutrition Studies certificate in Plant-Based Nutrition in 2022 and is currently pursuing a certificate in Plant-Based Health Coaching from Food Revolution Network. Passionate about health and fitness, nutrition research (when well-designed and undertaken without food industry influence) and the history of nutrition and medicine, Rachel believes that reducing human reliance on animal products, especially in WEIRD countries, is critical to averting climate and environmental catastrophe, and that so-called healthcare in the US will never deliver anything other than disease care without extensive reform of the food system and the healthcare system, including how doctors are trained. Rachel is a proud mother of two teenage children, a graduate from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business, Stanford University’s Graduate School of Education and Cambridge University where she was awarded a BA/MA in Natural Sciences.
