Summary
Over the past two decades, Robert Balmaseda has developed the skills to manage every aspect of an agency/consultancy in the product design and development space. Robert is SVP, Agency at AMP XD which is the new iteration of SmallTalk after it’s acquisition by AMP Agency. At AMP XD, Robert is proud to work with a talented and experienced team of Product Design and Development Consultants many of whom he has been fortunate enough to work with for the past two decades. Prior to it’s acquisition, SmallTalk grew to become a leading Product Design and Development firm working with brands as diverse as Fujitsu, Phramavite, the County of Marin, VMware and many others. As senior vice president of digital marketing agency SolutionSet, Balmaseda spent seven years managing all aspects of a $10 million-a-year business. Everything from P&L sheets to hiring talent to bringing on great new clients fell under Balmaseda's responsibility and he rose to the challenge, growing the business and managing complicated, long-term projects for some of the world's most recognizable brands, including Apple, the California Lottery, Chevron, Cisco, eBay, Pacific Union Realty, Wells Fargo and UPS. When global firm Epsilon acquired SolutionSet in 2012, Balmaseda was promoted to General Manager and made responsible for a $12 million-a-year practice within its Technology/Energy vertical. Prior to joining SolutionSet, Balmaseda served as Vice President of Internet Development at Carat Interactive where he managed and led projects for adidas, EA, Kodak, Macromedia, Mills Corporation, RadioShack, Vodafone and Wachovia. He also held key management positions for various other agencies, startups and consultancies, including iGeneration, HardCloud, USWeb/CKS, and Digital Planet. With a deep understanding of both technology and market trends, Balmaseda helps clients to create digital customer experiences -- utilizing everything from mobile applications to database integration to complex, custom Content Management Systems (CMS) to improve both internal efficiency and external brand communications. He brings that same level of understanding to executive management, balancing expert knowledge of market trends and emerging technologies with the ability to effectively manage the daily operations of a business.
