Summary

My vision for the social sector is that it holds an equal place in our society with the public and business sectors, enabled by the best technology solutions we can craft. While some companies see technology for nonprofits first as a business opportunity, I see technology as a lever to drive social sector impact and have built an organization around this vision. Our society needs ways to accelerate solutions to the large, obstinate problems it is facing. Organizations that track and manage their results are able to use insights to make progress against these challenges. The education, human services, and philanthropy sub-sectors have a unique ability to use data and information to accelerate social change, and I’ve focused the work at Exponent Partners in these three areas. We are developing deep expertise necessary to deliver the sector-changing systems in these practices. The solutions we deliver at Exponent Partners are unique in their structure and purpose, and informed by my experience as an early leader in cloud computing. We leverage the power of cloud platforms to deliver flexible and sustainable systems that drive missions. Nonprofits can only succeed in their mission if their entire organization is working toward it in lockstep. Our ‘whole-organization’ information systems enable performance management for all aspects of nonprofit operations and results. At the same time, we seek to deliver technology designed to strengthen the overall social sector. Every project we undertake aims to build the knowledge and infrastructure of the sector through repeatable services, best practices, and configurable products, such as our Exponent Case Management solution. Exponent Partners also represents my deep belief in the importance of weaving social purpose into the DNA of companies. We’ve elected to be a California Benefit corporation and have been a proud member of the B Corps community for 5 years to underscore this conviction.
