Summary
My passion project in espionage nonfiction, Beverly Hills Spy was just published by HarperCollins. https://bit.ly/3HJMHzf It was named one of the Best 20 Books of February by Kirkus: https://www.kirkusreviews.com/book-reviews/ronald-drabkin/beverly-hills-spy/ An article I wrote on spy books in the Wall Street Journal: https://www.wsj.com/arts-culture/books/five-best-books-on-espionage-889243a3?page=1 Here I am on NPR: https://www.kpcc.org/podcast/airtalk/ca-legislation-would-mandate-phonics-based-reading-instruction-requirements and on Dan Snow's History Hit: https://podfollow.com/dan-snows-history-hit/view Lots of other press like Booklist https://www.booklistonline.com/Beverly-Hills-Spy-The-Double-Agent-War-Hero-Who-Helped-Japan-Attack-Pearl-Harbor/pid=9788357 and https://crimereads.com/attempted-assassination-charlie-chaplin/ https://www.thecipherbrief.com/book-review/the-story-of-a-beverly-hills-spy For my day job: I have multiple exits where I was a founder or first business employee. Have over 15 years Google and Facebook advertising experience with >$150m spent. I also cofounded and got corporate backing for a new innovative high school. I'm a low ego kind of guy, not caring whose idea it was. I gravitate to impactful jobs where I am directly accountable for results, such as startup sales or manufacturing operations. Sometimes I feel like Forrest Gump. I watched the Asiana Airline crash from above, saw the Paul Walker crash on 101. I lived next to OJ Simpson and Asahara Shoko. Was the production control manager on the Pentium during the recall. Freaky.
