Ron Hodgson

Summary

My professional experience was primarily in the telecommunications business - including stints with operating companies (BCE), research organizations (BNR, Stentor Resources) and technology providers (Nortel). I am now retired from an active career and have been using my skills to contribute to the Ottawa community at both an organizational level and at a training level. I am currently involved with the Ottawa Centre for Research and Innovation (OCRI) in their Smartsites program, am Director of Communications in an Ottawa community organization and do coaching and training work with people suffering from Cerebral Palsy in a program called Computer Wise. My interest and experience lie in the need, value and process of developing knowledge networks using the internet at the community level to reduce the so-called "Digital Divide".
