Summary

Working in technical support has developed my passion for both software and helping people use software: My enthusiasm creates a positive atmosphere for the community of users and the software development team. For the last two years, I was the #2 Support engineer in a small team supporting Element.io customers using their EMS SAAS product which was a Matrix (end to end encrypted decentralized open source chat; think Signal but decentralized) hosted home server product. I also improve software products by reporting support insights from users to engineering and working with technical writers to improve documentation. I did this for many years for Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird using custom scripts written in Ruby and the R programming language using the R Studio tool and R packages from the tidyverse like ggplot2 and dplyr . As well, I coordinated requirements and managed the delivery of five Tableau Dashboards for product support and community feedback. Formerly Chief Blogging Officer at Bryght (www.bryght.com) with many years of C++ and telecommunications software development experience and a keen interest in blogging (VanEats.com - Vancouver's 1st and best food blog established June 2000, RolandTanglao.com) and other social software like wikis who is trying to make the world a better place through blogging and in the process make money. Specialties: Drupal, Thunderbird, Blog software development and integration of blogging with e-commerce. Blog, microcontent and food writing, PHP/Perl/C++/Java/C/Drupal/Radio UserLand/Manila/Frontier etc. software development. Many years of experience doing C/C++/Java/Perl development at Nortel along with doing SDK support , and managing an internal Nortel developer relations team.
