Summary
By day I am Co-Founder and CEO of the Next Big Idea Club. With help from our curators Adam Grant, Susan Cain, Daniel Pink and Malcolm Gladwell, we select the most groundbreaking new books and deliver the key ideas in 12 minutes of audio or 5 minutes of text, directly from the authors themselves. We also offer video masterclasses, and direct interaction with the leading thinkers in the world ... the mission here is to deliver the most important ideas in better formats. As we like to say, there is no better way to get smart fast -- read a book in the time take to untangle a pair of headphones! You can download the next big idea app here - https://apple.co/3BwBXjx. In the evenings (and during the day) I am a father of three boys, who I smother with unsolicited advice (which you can read here - http://bit.ly/2tKcWxg), a mediocre builder of wood furniture, and an exuberant reader, skier, body surfer, husband, and advisor / investor in startups at the intersection of technology and media. Before NBIC, I co-founded three companies -- first Nerve.com, in 1997, an early youth culture website, acquired by IAC; second Spring Street Networks, an online dating technology company acquired by Various, Inc.; and third Babble.com, a website for a new generation of parents, acquired by Disney in 2011. Babble evolved into a platform for female influencers, covering a wide range of women's lifestyle topics, distributed through social media. The Next Big Idea is backed by Comcast, Bertelsmann, Bloomberg, the New York Times, Greycroft, and Betaworks. Learn more at www.nextbigideaclub.com.
