Summary
Russ Wilcox is CEO of Trellis Air which provides dehumidification at 50-80% energy savings. He is a serial founder and former Mass High Tech All-Star and EY New England Entrepreneur of the Year. He was previously CEO of E Ink, a spin-out of the MIT Media Lab to commercialize electronic paper. E Ink achieved research breakthroughs, built a factory in Massachusetts, and produced tens of millions of displays for the Amazon Kindle, SONY Reader, and other devices. In 2009 he sold the startup for $480 million. It trades publicly today as E Ink Holdings. After E Ink he started several other science-based companies related to cleantech and biotech. From 2017-2024 he was a general partner at Pillar VC where he led investment rounds and served on Boards of early stage companies across software, hardware, architecture, agriculture, materials, and biotechnology. He continues to support Pillar and its portfolio as a venture partner. Since 2018 he has been an instructor at the Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Science where he co-teaches LaunchLab, the capstone course for the MS/MBA joint degree. He graduated with honors in Applied Mathematics from Harvard College and was a Baker Scholar at Harvard Business School.
