Summary
I co-founded Denali and was the CEO when it was acquired by Cadence. The company was bootstrapped and was eventually sold for 315M. I was Chairman of Board of NVELO, Inc. which was a storage software company. NVELO was acquired by Samsung in 2012. At this stage of my career, my focus is exclusively on education. I believe that technology is yet to transform education on the scale that it has just about every other aspect of our lives. I have come to the conclusion that empowering teachers through technology is the single most transformational opportunity in the sector. I founded Vocareum, Inc. to focus on leveraging cloud computing to build labs for education. I believe that mobile devices have made it possible for learners in any corner of the world to get access to top-notch instruction. Similarly, cloud infrastructure can be used to provide top-notch experiential labs to learners. These labs can be used for learning and building skills. Apart from Vocareum, my involvement in education includes investment in Lifelaunchr.com, board position at the non-profit Foundation for Excellence and Pratham, and participating in various initiatives at my alma mater, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I am exploring entrepreneurial and philanthropic opportunities to make mental health services more accessible.
