Summary

https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/legacyremembers/sanjay-jhawar-obituary?id=52930599 "Sanjay Jhawar was co-founder and Board Member at RealWear, the leading industrial head-mounted wearables company. He served as President and Chief Product Officer and later as Chief Strategy Officer. Making this personal - I have now left the company due to health issues - incurable glioblastoma - an aggressive fatal brain cancer. With the best care from both Stanford (nr. Palo Alto) and UCSF (San Francisco) some of the top research institutes in this field, and a concerted personal effort on diet and fitness, I have survived significantly longer that most with this diagnosis - as of now at March 20, 2023 - 26 months. I am 2 months from age 55 and it is highly unlikely I will get to 56. I've been lucky in the last 2 years to visit South Africa on Safari, Puerto Vallarta in Mexico, Kenai Peninsula in Alaska and South Island, New Zealand. With it's deep bench and improved forecasting I hope RealWear completes the journey to a public company under the leadership of CEO Andrew Chrostowski. Going forward I will shortly be stopping new access to my LinkedIN account and will not be reading it very much. I've been a LinkedIN user since 2003, monitoring it several times a day, so this will be a big change. Friends who would like to stay in touch on personal matters (but not for business networking) are invited to connected with me on Facebook or via my personal email - both of which are easy to find if you are indeed an established friend. My RealWear email is being closed down. Over the last 33 years I have felt privileged to have played a role in - PC display monitor industry - the mobile phone business - spending time learning and as an EIR in venture capital - startups that pioneered a. mobile email b. telecoms fixed mobile convergence c. ultra rugged mobile phones and smartphones for enterprises and first responders d. as co-founder: enterprise rugged head mounted AR devices, software and cloud solutions None of this would have been possible without mentors who believed in me, colleagues who taught me and coaches explained where I had messed up - once even after I had to leave a position in a failing company. Gradually I learned, got better and did my best to pay it forward, mentor and coach new promising bright people and especially a few women. It could not have been possible without the support of by wife Madeline Jhawar also an entrepreneur and our boy and girl aged 16 and 18. Thank you all, sincerely Sanjay Jhawar"
