Summary
I was an accidental Data Analyst. Building and managing online communities for decades on virtual worlds, live chats, wikis, and reliable ol’ forums showed me that when technology mediates participation between people, it relies on data. And with every new community I worked with, the challenges became more interesting and my passion for using data to find answers grew. What can I say? I love working with data and discovering the stories that they tell. Especially when relationships are not obvious but show up in analytic visualizations. Bonus points for recognizing my background image! Hint: One of my hobbies is studying the History of Medicine. So, here I am taking a path from part-time interest to full-time formal Data Analytics. My values remain the same, to use all of my varied experiences to help people help each other to make a positive change in their own lives and those around them. I am looking for full-time *remote-only* work in any US time zone and particularly love working for non-profits. Specialties: Reformatting text data dumps into useable formats. Picking up new skills and learning new tools as I need them. Social and design aspects of online community building and volunteer management.
