Summary
I am a serial entrepreneur. I started a car import business in high school and a roller hockey league/camp program in conjunction with the Vancouver VooDoo after graduating from UBC Commerce in 1993. Shortly after selling the Richmond Roller Hockey league to the City of Richmond, I started my professional accounting career at Deloitte. Well timed, I jumped into the tech industry and ultimately became the audit manager at notable clients such as PMC-Sierra, Pivotal Software & MDSI. In 2000, my wife and I moved to the Bay Area where I joined PWC and managed the IPO's of LogicVision and Marvell Semiconductor along with running the audits of a dozen or so startups. With the collapse of the Tech bubble, I switched gears and joined LumiCyte, a venture-backed biotech in Fremont, CA. In 2003, we moved back to Canada to build an outsourced accounting services firm. The model was well received in Vancouver with a lot of tech startups in need of SR&ED, NRC-IRAP and professional bookkeeping and reporting capabilities at a part-time price tag. Growth efforts included partnerships with CFO2Go and then the creation of Quantum Outsourcing Group LLP. In 2006, Kirill Tchimerine and I started QCDocs Systems Inc to build a paperless office solution for accounting and business process optimization. I left Quantum shortly thereafter to focus on building QCDocs Systems in conjunction with Tandem Accounting Group Chartered Accountants. QCDocs has grown and now supports numerous business and bookkeepers. Tandem continues to flourish with expansion into public company reporting, mining and resource sector accounting, controls and IFRS project support. In 2010, Sean joined QuickMobile as the CFO to take on a more dedicated role with this rapidly growing mobile application developer for conferences and events.
