Paul A. Simpson is an entrepreneur and Co-Founder / Managing Director of Aprovina, a niche investment firm focused on helping small businesses thrive and grow, especially in target segments within real estate, technology, and healthcare. Paul provides start-up investing as well as business financing and strategy consulting to companies in his portfolio. He co-founded Aprovina LLC in 2015, which employs a unique data-driven approach to optimizing businesses in complex industries and markets, a skillset that grew out of his experience as a former management consultant to Fortune 100/500 companies. As background, Paul was born in Uruguay and raised in a globally-minded home having lived in Brazil, Hong Kong, and Ireland, among others. Paul attended the University of Florida (UF), where he primarily paid his tuition by the savings he accumulated since childhood. After earning his Bachelor's degree in Economics, he attended UF's Warrington College of Business for his Master's degree. He was subsequently hired by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as a management consultant. Paul quickly rose through the ranks at PwC. Early in his career at PwC, he was selected to its prestigious Genesis Park program, reserved for its highest potential top 1% of its talent. In one of his most formative professional experiences, Paul was brought in as a lead advisor to Grady Memorial Hospital. He was tasked by its Board to help develop and execute its financial turnaround, with an emphasis on revitalizing its IT systems and other technology-driven services. Grady was an essential Atlanta community resource renowned for its trauma services, public health expertise, and legacy of charity work focused on vulnerable, low-income patients. Serving as its interim CIO, Paul immersed himself in this high-profile, complex project, where he spurred Grady's stabilization and continued growth today. After leaving PwC and then Grady, Paul began to get more involved in more entrepreneurial ventures, first as an independent IT consultant, and then as a Managing Director for an innovative data-storage firm. Today, he leverages his unique technology leadership experience across public and private organizations to assist promising companies grow and succeed. Outside of work, Paul is a proud partner to his busy executive wife, Genevieve, and father to Charlie (as well as dog dad to Hiro); he also enjoys good food, traveling, and a good analytical challenge.
