Lucas Lu

Summary

Dr. Lu founded 5miles C2C platform in 2014 and Cybermiles(CMT) in 2017. He has served as Senior Research and Development Director since joining Alibaba Group in 2007. He has been in charge of a series of remodeling and building of Taobao platform, such as remodeling Taobao Commodities Centre and Taobao Advertisement Platform, building and developing Taobao Search Engine, and improving Taobao Data Storage System. Because of deep understanding of technology and business, Dr. Lu has been General Manager of Taobao.com Wireless Business Unit and first General Manager of Washu Taobao (JV). Prior to joining Alibaba Group, Dr. Lu was the Vice President and CTO of Research and Development at Bokee.com from 2004 to 2007. Prior to joining Bokee.com, Dr. Lu was the Co-founder and Architect at Diff-Tech, where he did deep research on content management and search engine design. Based on deep understanding and practice on search engine and data mining Dr. Lu has published the book <Principle, Practice and Application of Search Engine> in 2006. Dr. Lu received a Ph.D. degree in 2005 from Southern Methodist University and B.S. in Physics from University of Science and Technology of China in 1996.
