Summary
I'm a seasoned designer and engineer with experience in cutting-edge research, development, prototyping, and fabrication settings. My superpower is being able to tackle complex and interdisciplinary problems and produce results, regardless of the obstacles. My style is deeply collaborative -- I work well with and manage interdisciplinary teams, and in settings where there are lots of tough and ambiguous technical issues and stakeholder objectives to be taken into consideration. Ever since my early days in Rehabilitation Engineering (technologies for physically and cognitively disabled people) at MIT and Tufts-New England Medical Center, and then while doing corporate R&D during fifteen years as a Member of the Research Staff at Xerox PARC, I've successfully brought many novel technologies out of laboratories and into the world. Using methods from design, engineering, the social sciences, and even art, I produce novel devices and systems that do useful and groundbreaking things for people in real-world settings.
