Summary
Have been using the pandemic as an opportunity to update my hands-on technology skills from .NET background to support a go-forward focus on open source web application development. Most recent project is building an "intranet" product aimed at helping rural residences track and manage their unique operational data. The entire stack is built in Javascript using Vue.js for front end, Node.js for back end, and MariaDB (MySQL) for database. A hybrid application, it can run efficiently on systems as small as Raspberry Pi for onsite use with or without internet service, and will ultimately synchronize with a cloud-hosted extension of the product that enables remote access and control from offsite.
