25+ year venture capital, start-up, and film production executive specialized in transactional internet services (b2c, b2b) and digital media. Experience includes founding, co-founding, executive management, and product leadership (strategy, design and development) roles for top San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles based start-ups including two early-stage-to-IPO Kleiner Perkins-backed businesses that achieved multi-$billion public market capitalizations: Chemdex/Ventro (the bellwether online marketplace for biochemicals and reagents backed initially by Genentech founder Bob Swanson), and Hometore-Realtor.com (the largest online real estate site built in association with the National Association of Realtors and National Association of Home Builders). My venture capital competence includes all aspects of early-stage investing, fund formation and fund management. I have invested multiple seven figures as an angel, and helped raise, operate and invest a ~$30M first-time fund with domestic and international HNW LPs, as well as several multi-$million follow-on SPVs. During the pre-Netscape era, I led several ground-breaking Internet projects for clients SEGA and Compaq Computer. My pre-internet career in feature film, television and high-end advertising production included work for Nickelodeon/MTV networks, Joe Pytka, Ridley Scott, Orion Pictures, and management-level participation in several technical and creative box-office record-setting $billion franchises at Disney Feature Animation - the original Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King.
