Steve's background includes: • 15 years as CEO & CTO of venture-backed cloud infrastructure startup in China • 25+ years as hands-on CTO in ventures of various sizes, shapes, and industries • Numerous patents, awards, articles, and media interviews, from WSJ to tech publications Recently returned from 15 years in China, leading Internet technology startups, and with 25 years of entrepreneurship & technology experience, I have built, run, and advised companies around the world across a wide range of industries. As a serial entrepreneur & global technologist, I love to bridge the gap between technology & sales, marketing, and finance while building products and companies. Previously, I served as a CTO of Tudou (China), Intermind, New Vine Logistics, and Advanced Management Systems. I was also the Chief Architect / Advisor on many local & global projects, including some for the World Health Organization in Geneva, Grameen Bank Foundation, and Fortune 500 companies. In 2008, I co-founded ChinaNetCloud, China’s first Cloud Computing Company & launching the Internet Managed Service Provider (MSP) industry in China, where we managed infrastructure for hundreds of local & global companies, and for hundreds of millions of users. My role as CEO/CTO included being CMO, CFO, and more of our 125+ person Chinese company. In 2017, I also launched our MSP/Ops product China & Silicon Valley, commercializing ChinaNetCloud's tools and systems for the global market, and to execute on my vision of how modern Cloud and DevOps-driven systems would be designed, built, and managed. Earlier, I wrote a book on globalization and now write regularly on Medium, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. I also hold numerous patents in digital data exchange and Internet operations technologies. In my spare time, I fly helicopters, sail boats, and taste wine.
