Summary
Steven Schenfeld is a 30 year veteran of the media & entertainment business, the private equity industry and the education industry. His roles have included president/founder, sales executive, creative executive, record producer, adjunct professor, investor and performer. As an intrapreneur and an entrepreneur, Steven and his teams have created tremendous value for shareholders and clients. In December 2004 he joined Cognizant as a founding member of the Information Services, Media & Entertainment (IME) practice and was later promoted to AVP. Since January 2017 he has been leading the development of Cognizant's Private Equity Practice. Attained "Quota Club" and exceeded targets on an annual basis. Cognizant (CTSH) is a member of the NASDAQ 100, S&P 500 and Fortune 500. From January 2003 to late 2004, he was Sales Director at Sterling Group, one of the world’s premier, independent branding and marketing consultancies. From 2000 through 2002, Steven served as Sales Director, Media & Entertainment Practice for Context Integration. In the late 90's Schenfeld co-founded the music licensing firm Licensethis, inc. which was sold to PRO SESAC in 2000. Music industry experience: Vice President of Artists & Repertoire/Staff Producer at Universal Music and Director of Artists & Repertoire at Blue Note/Capitol Records between 1989 and 1998. Professor Schenfeld served as adjunct faculty at Fairfield University (Fairfield, CT) from 2005 through 2012, where he taught in the Dept. of Visual and Performing Arts. He has also been an investor in various media properties including the Tony award winning Broadway musical "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee". As a professional pianist and composer he has performed with such luminaries as Gerry Mulligan, Lionel Hampton, and Tito Puente and has received numerous accolades.
