Summary
Trained as a lawyer, Sue found her calling in areas beyond those of a legal eagle. Upon graduation, she joined a celebrity management company where she spent time managing and organising local screen and stage celebrities’ schedules and contract negotiations, before being “spotted” and cast in the pilot of a local sitcom. Since 1997, she has gone on to act in several local TV dramas, serials, plays and movies in Malaysia, both in Malay and English. Sue secured her first acting gig in Singapore playing Poh Choo in Growing Up 6, alongside actors like Lim Kay Tong. Most recently, Sue has played Gurmit Singh's wife, Susan, in the sitcom 80s Rewind and Sherry in Fighting Spiders Season 1 & 2, all aired on Channel 5 Singapore. Most recently, she guest starred in The Pupil 2. NTV7 in Malaysia started airing Fighting Spiders Season 1 in July 2010 as well. In 2003, Sue was nominated for Best Actress for the movie Lang Buana at the Malaysian Film Festival. Sue also hosted a Malaysian docu-drama and scripted two English sitcoms for Malaysian TV. More recently, she was involved in writing scripts for Yang Sisters season two and Fighting Spiders season one and two in Singapore. Sue was also an announcer with Malaysia’s Lite FM station which is part of ASTRO, Malaysia's leading cross-media operator specialising in the creation, aggregation and distribution of content across multiple platforms. At Lite FM, she also wrote promo segments for the programme, and interviewed local and international celebrities on air. Sue is also often in demand as an emcee in the local and regional events circuit, and her client list includes Nike (SEA), Rolls-Royce, Alpha Southeast Asia, Ford Malaysia, SK-II, Jaquet Droz, VISA, Mont Blanc, Chevrolet, Pavilion KL, Maxis, Starbucks and Anlene among others.
