Summary
I‘m a first generation Netizen and former IT executive turned PhD researcher in Cyber-Governance, International Relations and Grand Political Theory. My current research bridges social science, human-computer interactions and tech-governance in an examination of the influence of Techno-Capitalism on European Democracy. I have an extensive IT and executive experience over the past three decades, mostly working in startups and new-tech development as well as digital political communication out of Iceland. I have led countless digital-communication projects and received several awards throughout the years for my work. My current research applies a functional-framework based in Democratic theory that analyses Techno-Capitalism's influence on various democratic functions relating to Cyberspace and Tech-Governance, drawing forth how operations are legitimized and executed in accordance with democratic principles (or lack thereof). My goal is to help protect human rights and establish democratic governance in Cyberspace, a domain that is increasingly ruled by criminals, corporations and state-centric special-interests.
