Summary

1980-1987 : Member of the Technical Staff, JPL. Developed a Kalman filter for Earth Orientation and spacecraft navigation support for the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Was technical head of the JPL Timing and Earth Orientation Program for operational spacecraft navigation support. 1987-1999 : Technical head of the Very Long Baseline Interferometry progam of the U.S. Naval Observatory, providing navigation calibrations for the entire Department of Defense and the GPS satellite constellation. 1999-2003 : CEO of Mullticast Technologies, a start-up devoted to bringing media broadcasting to the Internet using IP Multicasting. 2003-2011 : CTO of TeleSuite Corporation, Destiny Communications, and Iformata Communications, start-ups devoted to immersive videoconferencing. 2004-2012 : CEO of AmericaFree.TV, a start-up devoted to providing of broadcast resolution video entertainment over the Internet. 2008-2012 : Member of the IETF Administrative Oversight Committee and Chair of the IETF Trust. 2012-present : CEO of Asteroid Initiatives, dedicated to exploring the economic potential of Near-Earth asteroids. Interests include the possible presence of condensed quark matter in asteroids and its economic implications. I am also working on applications and dynamics of planetary-scale tethers and space elevators, particularly for Lunar space elevators. Specialties: Applications of non-perturbative Quantum Chromodynamics in the Solar System. Distribution and economic potential of asteroids. Development of IP networks for streaming media distribution. Design, implementation and debugging of multicast enabled networks.
