Summary
A civil electromechanical engineer gone rogue, I enjoyed a frivolous yet forming 10 year career in digital visual effects for high grossing movies. I can claim to have digitally killed Gollum by simulating the lava he fell into. I left the film industry on a high note, nominated for the highest award in my line of work. The past decade has marked a return to sanity, without losing my playful approach to engineering. Armed with knowledge about the most advanced computer graphics tools, and a specific understanding about creating compelling experiences, I now turn my attention to the way *physical* goods are made and sold. In particular, I work towards (re-)democratising the modes of production in a post-digital world, and generating transparency around the manufacturing process. I build software tools that help brands and individual makers bridge the divide between engineering and compelling, non-technical consumer experiences. In a way that instills new respect for the things around us, and the people and brands that made them for us.
