Summary
Consultancy, Research, Technology, Speaking Main current focus: digital transformation, open government data / transitioning to open by design, ethics by design. Senior Open Data program and project leader (open data projectleider) Open to advisory board, and non-profit board positions. I assist public institutions around the world in making the transition to open by design, and using open data as an effective instrument in addressing the many policy issues public administrations face. As an experienced open data project leader I assist national governments on formulating open data strategies, agenda's and legal frameworks, as well as helping local governments and operational departments make the needed changes to apply open data in their everyday work. I am fascinated how digital technology allows many new affordances for those who never had access to them before, how it pushes new instruments into the hands of each individual. This is an enormous source of agency, for individuals, the groups they belong to, and the organisations they are part of. Open data, DIY IoT ,as well as the maker movement are all examples of this. At the same time those same digital technologies have created a fully networked world that brings a strong increase in complexity. My work increases your and your community's or organisation's agency, in dealing with and leveraging the complexity of our every day world. Based in Netherlands, work across Europe as well as globally. Expertise: Open government, open data, open by design FabLabs Guiding, managing (complex) change processes and transitions Navigating complexity Knowledge management, knowledge work and learning in networked environments Guiding, starting and nurturing Communities of Practice and other informal peer learning networks.
