I am Val Babajov, a serial entrepreneur and venture capitalist with a remarkable journey spanning over forty-four years of experience in software development and management. In 1980, I graduated with a Master's in Business Informatics. Taking a leap of faith, my wife and I ventured from Bulgaria to California in 1989, armed with only $100 in capital. Since then, I have poured my heart and soul into my ventures, dedicating 34 years of my life to their growth and success. Before the dot-com era, I had the privilege of building and leading a multimillion-dollar professional services business. Employing a talented team of one hundred twenty software engineers across LA, NYC, Toronto, the EU, and China, we achieved resounding success in the industry. The dot-com crash presented new challenges, but I saw it as an opportunity to create something groundbreaking. And so, I set out to develop the revolutionary WebMessenger product, focusing on mobile instant messaging for enterprises. The journey was not without its hurdles, but in 2007, I successfully sold it to Apptix, only to repurchase it for a fraction of the cost and subsequently sell it to Callwave/FuzeBox in 2008. From 2009 onward, my focus shifted to Partners 1993 Inc., a software development and services company with a keen focus on mobile and backend development. The impressive roster of clients, including industry giants like Verizon, VMware, Syniverse, AT&T, CIBC, Citibank, Genentech and IBM. In 2012, I marked another successful chapter by selling the assets of Partners 1993 Inc. to Broadsoft (NASDAQ: BSFT), further establishing myself as a visionary entrepreneur. In 2015, I embarked on a new venture, and since then, I have proudly served as the Founder, Lead Investor, President, and CEO of VideoEngager, Inc. With a relentless pursuit of innovation, we created the game-changing SmartVideo product, seamlessly integrated with Genesys, Talkdesk, and Salesforce platforms. VideoEngager's SmartVideo, a mature, full-featured, enterprise P2P video chat service, has earned its reputation as the preferred choice for initiating video calls between agents and customers. I have been fortunate to travel extensively for both business and pleasure. My journey has taken me to 64 countries across North America, Europe, Latin America, and Oceania. Fueled by an unwavering passion for innovation and a trailblazing spirit, I continue to leave an indelible mark on the world of technology, inspiring countless professionals and aspiring entrepreneurs to dream big and achieve even bigger.
