Summary
During my career I've had a variety of roles in public and private companies, in government, in military, and in education. I was the CIO for the State of Utah for about two years. I was one of the founders and CTO of iMALL, an early eCommerce company which we sold to Excite@Home in 1999. I enjoy teaching, writing, and solving problems, but the most fun I've ever had was building and leading a team to build large-scale distributed Web applications. At iMALL, we built a team of engineers, system administrators, and product managers from just a few people in January of 1998 to over 125 in July of 1999. While building the organization, we also built cutting edge Internet technologies. Our eCommerce system provided eCommerce services to over 50,000 merchants. Specialties: Web services, digital identity, large-scale distributed systems, enterprise computing, eGovernment, connected democracy
